E-CAPS Number 4

March 9, 2001

Not only is this a busy time at the Legislature for public hearings, the two-day snow storm has caused meetings to be rescheduled and the schedule of hearings for next week is packed. Remember though, even if you can't attend a hearing, you can submit written testimony to the committee and write letters to your legislators.

EQUITABLE WAGES FOR EARLY CHILDHOOD WORKERS
The public hearing at the Labor Committee is scheduled for March 15th at 1pm in Room 1D. We will be in touch to find out who is planning to attend and who is interested in testifying. The Press Conference is scheduled for March 15 at 11 a.m. in Rm 1A. If you can, please try to attend both the press conference and the public hearing. This will be our best opportunity to raise awareness of the crisis in recruiting and retaining child care workers.
